Currently you are unable to reset security questions but you would do it by contacting itunes through itunes express lane

Answer:How to reset security questions

This used to be the way you would do it but as I stated earlier this ability is currently not an option

Answer:How to reset security questions

You stated earlier, contacting itunes through itunes express lane.

Is your suggestion different from this one that was in my post?

Go to: Apple Express Lane;Under Product Categories choose iTunes; Then choose iTunes Store; Then choose Account Management;Press Continue; Now choose iTunes Store Security and answer the bullet questions, then clickContinue;Sign in with your Apple ID and press Continue;Under Contact Options fill out the information and advise iTunes that you would like your security/challenge questions reset;Click Send.

Answer:How to reset security questions

No it is the same, I was just stating that that is how you would do it if that ability was still an option right now

Answer:How to reset security questions

OK. Your comment seemed a criticism that the post was not correct.

Answer:How to reset security questions

No it was in concurrence with your response

Answer:How to reset security questions

OK, then it was my misunderstanding for which I apologize.

I got some help from an apple assistant on the phone.

It is kind of round about way to get in

Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...

1) on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to settings, store tap the Apple ID and choose viewApple ID and sign in.

2) Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select done, in the upper right corner

3) sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to settings store tap the Apple ID and choose sign-out Tap sign -in use existing Apple ID and you should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the security questions.

4) At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and selecting none as the card type then saving the changes by selecting done. You should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security questions.

Its working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

Good Luck friends!

Thank You! After spending an hour on the phone with tech support and 7 emails back and forth with iTunes support this finnaly fixed my problem! Everyone should try this first!

Answer:How to reset security questions

I shall try this as its my last resort! I have no other way of resetting my security questions as apple seem unable / unwilling to help

whats going to happen when millions of people recieve their new iphone 5s and realise they dont have their security answers when they try and purchase their first app on their new device? will apple have it fixed by then? I doubt it!

To Nanpantz2012,

Try signing in from the App Store instead of from settings and follow the same process. I was experiencing the same thing you were, then I tried  signing straight from the App Store located at the bottom right and it worked. Hope it helps.

Answer:How to reset security questions

sorry apple, I shoud not have to enter payment information of any type to get my securiy questions cleared, either they can fix the issue that has been around longer then time itself, or they will lose another customer... I am not about to breech my cc# and information in thier lackluster servers.. rather pay with music cards like I have in past... Fix it or **** off.

I see this as a way for them to FORCE you to add a Credit card to your account unwillingly... Start to use call centers in the USA and I might feel somewhat more comfortable about my information regarding payments in your database servers is safe, lol even if you remove it I am sure the system stores it.

Answer:How to reset security questions

Agreed. And these so-called secuity quesions need to go away fast. They add nothing but trouble. Way to go Apple.

Answer:How to reset security questions

Got it fixed, but after a lady at a call center who I could barley hear called me back on a unknown # she asked everything from A-Z about me, wonder if she would like my underwear size, i see their questions as a form of a survey and not a security protocol. I refuse to use a credit card on this account. With as much stupid security they place , like having to put in my pasword allmost everytime i do something on my phone or itunes = cheap programming.

Honestly if it was for me i would cancel this materialistic crap and go back to a cdma phone. but since it is my wifes she has to join the community of snobby smartphone usrs poking their way thru life one tap at a time.

ohh and you DO NOT have to enter CC info, just use the contact information button on manage my apple id.... If you send support mail first they will assign a ticket# to it and thus you can post that ticket # into the call me field for support... once you reanswer your security questions hit PrtSc once , go to your desktop and create a new BMP or jpeg or gif etc, open it in edit, and paste your screenshot of your security questions, save that file or print out for future reference. I just took the file and archived it up in a encypted rar file..hope this helps some...

Answer:How to reset security questions

My problem is that I do not have a credit card linked to my account, have been using iTunes gift cards all this while. Throughout my iPhone 3GS, 2 x iPhone 4, 4S, all 3 x iPads, not once was I required to answer security questions which were set more than half a decade ago.. Ive called Apple Support, apparently this is a heightened security measure Apple has adopted. Which is well and good, but shouldnt Apple have warned us first and given us the option of updating or resetting our old security questions?

I have my Apple account password and access to the email its registered under. Yet I cant reset my security questions because the security team requires me to answer my security questions before they can reset it for me -..- The solution offered to me is to live with it.. Use my other I-devices or computer to make purchases before downloading it on my brand new iPhone 5! What happens in the future when all those older devices fail and are gone?

I sincerely hope that Apple offers a more viable solution, especially for some of us who do not live on credit cards.

Answer:How to reset security questions

I am stuck in this very same situation and apple cannot help (called the support, went to an apple store) the only solution they offer is to add a credit card, sorry but I do not one one and my debit card is apparently not accepted by Apple!

You have my phone on record, you have the Serial of the Mac I use for iTunes, you have the serial of my iPhone 5, you have 3 of my e-mail address, why should I be FORCED to add a Credit Card?

Answer:How to reset security questions

My experience can be found at teaneedz.tumblr but basically this is where we are :

Dear Apple, if we wanted to give you a credit card, we would have in the beginning. Do you understand how ridiculous it sounds though to even ask an already irate customer for their credit card in order to use the prepaid iTunes card when your customer didn’t want to give you a credit card in the first place?

That is not a fix. That is not good user experience. That is not what Apple stands for.

After a 90 minute call, Apple’s security department told me that I’d need to answer a security question (yes, that’s the reason why I’ve been on this call for so long long to begin with) or I could provide a credit card to verify identity. Yes I could give a credit card but the fact that Apple wants a credit card to use a prepaid iTunes card in the first place is a journey down the rabbit hole.

The security department agent informed me that I couldn’t be transferred out to another department after I requested a transfer back to Customer Care or another department where I could request a manager or executive escalation department call back. Do security department phones at Apple only work one way?

Apple, please get your act together. I keep reminding myself why I’m an Apple fan but today you have left me questioning where your brand is headed.

Thank you so much. This works. Just remove credit card or it will charge the card. Thanks again.. Mitzie
