Question:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

I have a Prius  and the a steering wheel controls stopped working after updating to iOS 7. I cant play the next or previous song which is pretty annoying because I have to grab my phone and look for the next/previous button while driving! It was working fine with iOS 6.

I believe this is a bug. Anyone else having the same issue?

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

iphone unlocked

Definitely a bug. I have a 4Runner and am experiencing the exact same issue. Same problem with the controls on the center console as well. Tried deleting my phone off my cars system and repairing it but the problem remains. I agree, its very annoying. Oddly enough the play/pause button on the center console works but has about a 3 second delay. I agree, its going to be a pretty big nuisance until it gets fixed. Hopefully they get this figured out soon.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Same here to, it is so annoying. hope they fix soon

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Yeah, play/stop works in the console only... But Next/Previous/Rand/Rpt do not work anymore... I reported it to Apple, hopefully you can do the same, maybe if they get enough complains theyll get it fixed... It is a safety issue, it defeats the whole purpose of the steering wheel controls...

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

I am so glad that someone brought this up too! I have a 2012 prius and had no problems with bluetooth until I updated to iOS 7. Im having the EXACT same problem. Music is able to play via bluetooth, but my steering wheel and console controls to go to the next song isnt working.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Same problem here. Apple says its sky net. Maybe even Wal-Mart or something to do with global warming. But its not ios 7

And i tried to restore my iphone. It work for the fisrt connection, but after the same problem persist.

And more, I cant pass music with my Iphone locked... So sad...

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

I have a Mercedes slk and cannot control with the steering wheel or central control.

I also note that when I get into the car it used to automatically connect and play my music.

Now I have to manually play it from the iPhone 4.

So it does stream.

It is very dangerous at the moment as to control through fingertip is far safer than rummaging for the phone and skipping forward

I am a UK user of an iPhone 5, and have found that, follwing an upgrade to what seems othweise to be an excellent IOS7, the hands-free settings on my 2008 Ford Focus ST for making telephone calls no longer work. With the radio on on the factory-fitted Sony in-car audio unit (a six-disc CD changer, radio etc), if I interrupt the programme to make a call, I can tthen neither easily go into my list of contacts to make a call, as I could with the previous OS on the phone, nor does the red end call button seem to take you back to radio use if you decide not to make a call. That red button still works to end an actual call, but pressing it when you have decided not to make  a call no longer takes you back to the radio operation, as it should; in such an instance the red button, which worked fine before the IOS 7 upgrade, is unresponsive. Has anyone else with a similar car, Sony standard car audio unit, and iPhone 5 running IOS7 had similar issues? I am on Vodafone 3G.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Im having the same issue with my Toyota (2012 Prius). Updated to iOS7 and now the controls on the steering wheel and center console are dead.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Thanks for the very prompt reply, BrianQ1971; sorry to hear that such in-car, hands-free, and audio unit-related problems are also plaguing you, and are clearly pretty widespread.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Prior to iOS 7 my iPhone 5 would automatically connect and play music through my cars (2012 Civic) bluetooth.  After updating to iOS 7, my phone will connect, HOWEVER, I have to manually use the play and skip buttons on my phone for anything to happen.  My phone no longer responds when I try using the skip buttons on my steering wheel.  I have also tried to repair my phone as well.  Like everyone else here, this is extremely frustrating, not to mention a big safety risk.  Hopefully Apple fixes this, and soon.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Has anyone using Pioneer head units in their cars had a problem with the ios 7 update?  When Apple put out ios 6, none of the meta data was usable and the steering wheel controls did not work.  It took a firmware update by Pioneer (six months later) to restore functionality.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Same issue in a 2013 Ford Focus, cant skip or go to previous using steering wheel controls. Also, cant skip from lock screen...Worked fine until iOS 7 upgrade.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Well, consider yourselves lucky. I have a new Mazda 6, and bluetooth worked OK on iOS6 (iPhone4S). Since I upgraded to iOS7, I cant even connect to the car system. Phone finds the car system, but when I want to pair them it replies that the car is out of range (while Im sitting behind the steering wheel). This is definitely a widespread bug. I spend a lot of time in the car and talk to my clients while driving, so this is quite a nuisance for me. Gonna go back to iOS6 if possible unless they fix it promptly!

Since upgrading the iPhone 5 to ios7, my 2014 Subaru Forester XT touring doesnt show the search button on the touchpad, requiring use of the phone to manually select another playlist.

Think ill do a restore of the older version if I cant find out how to get the button to show again, and an update is not forthcoming.

My 4s worked great with iOS6. Well folks, after having the same problems as above with my 13 Toyota Venza, I re-installed the devices, re booted everything and tried using the USB input. Even when wired in (not Bluetooth connected) the problems remain. Since the phone connects and operates via Bluetooth, I am questioning wether the problem is actually in the new iTunes with the iTunes Radio. It seems that the program does not accept control input from a Bluetooth source.

I dont have a fix...Comments

I have the same problem in a 2011 Mazda 3. I called and spoke with apple - there is an I upgraded link on phone support. The gentleman I spoke with said that there were not many reports yet. I told him I would try in wifes ford. My guess is not enough people have run into this yet, but it seems pretty clear that theres a bug. My car worked with ios 5 and ios 6.

I was able to pair my iphone 5/IOS 6 with my dell xps12 win 8  .after the IOS 7 upgrade the device can be found by windows however the connection can not be established . any work around before Apple fix is appriciated

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

As it seems most cars dont like iOS7, and mine is no different, I own a 2013 Ford Fiesta, the Bluetooth connects and will play when prompted to do so by touching the phone, none of the steering wheel controls work or the controls on the head unit either.

The phone however will work when connected via USB, and full functionally has been restored.

It must be a Bluetooth Protocol issue but what will fix it?

Will the radio manufacturers change their firmware or will Apple create an update sooner rather than later

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Same issue! I have a 2013 honda accord and I cant use my steering wheel controls nor my dashboard controls to change songs since the update. Even on the lock screen it wont let me change the song when on Bluetooth. I have to physically go into my music to do so. So frustrating!

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Back when ios 6 was first introduced, many of us had this same problem, i.e. no metadata and loss of steering wheel control when Bluetooth streaming.  The problem was that Apple had gone to newer Bluetooth standards without providing for backward compatability with all of the cars, aftermarket installed head units, and many Bluetooth headsets, etc.  The problem lasted for many months and Apple never sent out a fix.  It was left up to each car manufacturer, and radio manufacturer to provide a firmware update to change their units to the newer bluetooth standard.  I had just installed two new Pioneer units in my cars and they worked perfectly with ios 5.  As soon as I installed ios 6, I lost Bluetooth functionality.  It took lsix months before Pioneer sent out a firmware fix so that ios 6 worked with their head units. Apple never acknowledged the problem even though this forum had hundreds of complaints.  It is starting again just like it did last time.  Contacting Apple wont do any good, you must talk to the makers of the radios that are affected.

I will not update to ios 7 until I am sure that I dont face the same idlentical problems that hundreds of us had with the ios 6 update and Apple.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

I have experienced this too when iOS 7 was still in beta and this is the reason why I restored back my iPhone 4s to iOS 6. I will not update to iOS 7 until they fix the bluetooth problem since I always play my songs from my iPhone whenever I drive my 2012 Subaru car.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

yes...same here. Music connects to car via bluetooth automatically but only way i can play it or fast forward/skip is to manually do it on phone, which of course is breaking the law so whats the point of having it if it dont work. wont work with steering wheel remote or on my car entertainment centre (peugeot) you got to unlock phone, then touch iphone screen which isnt how its suppose to be

iOS6 everything worked 100% and 99% of time i use my car stereo to play my music from my phone so rather mugged of this feature isnt working as it should. i drive quite a bit on distance and this is important part of safe driving.

dont mind the new iOS7 and some new things are great but you would think they would test ALL aspects of it before the release the update

should also mention the music on their control centre doesnt work either. nothing happens when you touch the screen on those control

hmmmmmmmmm hope this gets fixed soon

I have a 2012 ford fiesta and the Bluetooth problem has just started happening for me. Has been fine since Thursday when I installed ios7 but now the steering wheel controls will not work and even on the control centre when the phone is locked as well. I had the same problem with my 2012 Toyota Camry. I uninstalled all Bluetooth devices from my vehicle, with my vehicle running in park. Turned off my vehicle, waited a few minutes, turned my car back on and reconnected my Bluetooth. Now everything is working again as it should with my iPhone 5 with ios7

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

I updated to OS7 last night, and my iPhone will no longer pair with my brand new Prius via Bluetooth at all.  It keeps searching, but never finds the device.  It worked perfectly before the system update.  This is obviously a widespread glitch that theyll need to develop a fix for.  SOON!!

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

You need to remove ALL devices from the Bluetooth on your automobile. Then after turning your car off, while you are waiting the few minutes that I mentioned above, go to the Bluetooth on your phone and open up the device that probably reads something like car multimedia, and click the remove this device button. Then turn off your Bluetooth on your phone. Turn your car back on and reconnect your device like you did when you originally did the very first time.

Same problems with Pantronics Voyager HD Bluetooth. My iPhone 4 with ios 7 also didnt see bluetooth device. Can I restore iOS 6? Thank you.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

My iphone 5s initially linked to my 2012 Hyundai Genesis.  Now it cant even discover the car.  Additionally, my Jaybird bluetooth headphones are also not discoverable.  Strangely, a no-name bluetooth speaker bought in the Caribbean is still able to connect via bluetooth.  Until this morning, I had an iPhone 4 with iOS7 that connected immediately to all of my bluetooth devices.  I need Apple to fix this soon or provide a way to drop back to iOS6.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Clear all linkages from all devices. The phone and the Bluetooth receivers and start from fresh. This worked for both my car and my fiancés car. It cant just be a coincidence.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Just unpaired my phone on my cars system and then chose forget this device on iPhone. Went through the pairing process again and all seems to be working - on the basis of making one successful call.... hoping this will be permanent and not work for one day and then have issues again.  Thanks again Sammytx!

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

I tried that before I called apple in my Mazda.  Deleted the car from the phone and the phone from the car.  Re-paired them but there was no improvement.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Thank you that solved the problem with my Prius. This is what I did:

1.  In your phone, Go to the settings, Bluetooth and click on the (i) of your cars Bluetooth. In my case it was CAR MULTIMEDIA. Then click on Forget this Device.

2. Turn off Bluetooth in your phone so that it doesnt try to connect to the cars BT again

3. Go to your car, turn it on and delete your phone from the BT settings of your car and reset all BT settings to Default

4. In my Prius you have to delete the phone twice, because theres two BT connections, one for audio (multimedia/music) streaming and another one for phone Bluetooth (to talk on the phone). Make sure you delete both of them. It takes just a minute to do it,  one is in the phone settings and the other in the audio settings.

5. Turn off your car and wait for a minute or so (this might not be necessary but I did anyway)

6. Turn your car on again.

7. Turn BT back on in your phone

8.  Register your phone with your cars BT. The phone will ask you for the code (the default is 0000 or 1212).

9. Thats it, once theyre paired again, everything went back to normal.

Steering wheel controls are working again through Bluetooth, sound is great, and phone calling works again with no choppiness.

Hope this helps. Thank you Sammytx for your help.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

I solved the problem on my Pioneer deck using similar steps... Heres what I did:

1 deleted the stereo in my iPhone 5s Bluetooth settings

2 turned off Bluetooth on the phone

3 restarted the phone

4 deleted the device on my car stereo ( and made sure there was no entry in its phone settings)

5 turned off the car

6 turned the car back on and went to the Bluetooth menu to scan for devices

7 turned Bluetooth back on and put the iPhone in pairing mode

8 waited...

Music started playing where it left off and I was able to skip tracks again. Success! :)

Good luck everyone!!

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Im having the same problem with a 2013 VW CC and an iPhone 4S with iOS 7... the bluetooth connects fine and can play music, but the skip buttons on the steering wheel controls and the buttons on the VW stereo display do not pause or skip songs. It worked perfectly with iOS 6.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

I had the exact problem with my Mazda3, deleted the profiles on both the iPhone and car then repairing to create new profiles on both resolved

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

My Pioneer MVH-350BT head unit has lost the ability to skip tracks when listening to my iphone5 via Bluetooth since upgrading to ios 7. Also it sometimes doesnt pick up the music on the phone unless I manually go to the Music app and press play - which kind of defeats the object of bluetooth streaming. Everything worked perfectly before I upgraded to iOS 7. Its very annoying and potentially very unsafe as it encourages users to fiddle about with the phone whilst driving !

I really hope a fix can be brought out soon. I really like ios 7 - just this issue which some might say is minor, but I would say it could be potentially major if you end up dead!

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Sorry didnt work for me using and combination of these steps. Must be a fault as worked perfectly before ios 7

I posted last night about same problem. I switched phone off then back on and this morning everything is working now as it should in car without doing anything like I expected to do ie unpair then pair up again. Simply switched it off and even the music on the control centre on the actual phone is working so if you havent turned phone off since update try that.  Me Im happy again

My bluetooth in my 2013 Hyundai Elantra does the same thing with IOS 7.  I cant control anything without touching the iPhone.  Also I have to unlock it and go into the music player and manually choose a song.  It wont even allow me to skip via the control panel on the phone.  So very frustrating.  I loved being able to skip around using the steering wheel controls...now theyre useless.  I hope they fix this issue soon.

Ive done the process that has been posted on here and it has not worked. Does anybody know how to resolve the problem with a 2012 ford fiesta? The other thing is that even plugging in headphones, you cannot change track or pause in the control centre when the phone is locked.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Just another note to say 2013 Kia Rio with the same issues. Bluetooth works but cant skip tracks on the steering wheel.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Eureka!  I noticed that my control center controls werent working either.  A separate thread on that issue recommended a hard reset (hold home and lock button till the apple appears).  That resolved all of my issues, blue tooth resumes playing automatically and the steering wheel control work again.

Hi, I have the same car with an iPhone 5, the problem was present up until I did this this morning.....

I debonded the phone from the ford stereo, told my device to forget the car, then switched the phone off by doing a soft reset press and hold the power and home button on the front of the phone until the apple logo appears, the phone will reboot and will eventually turn back on again, when it does go back through the pairing sequence with car and hey presto the steering wheel controls and console controls will control the phone again!

Hope you get the right result

Thanks

I had the same problem with my new 2014 Subaru Legacy after updating to iOS 7.  All I did was have the iPhone 4S forget the car.  I turned off Bluetooth on the iPhone, then turned it on again.  When I started the car (remaining in park), and put on the Bluetooth audio, the phone found the car, I entered the passcode and both audio streaming and hands-free phone and all steering wheel controls work.  I didnt need to do anything with the car.

This worked!  Much appreciated!  I dont have my truck right now to try it, but it did work for my Jaybirds!  I, like many, unpaired the device and forget it from the phone.  The trick was, after having done that, to power off the phone or soft reset as you said!  Once rebooted and re-paired, It worked!  and I am almost certain that this will remedy any bt control issues with ios 7.  The key is powering off!  THANK YOU!

I did as advised.

deleted on iphone 4, deleted on car. switched both off.

Suprisingly, my 2012 Focus works without a hitch via Bluetooth

for phone as well as music on a quick check.  Primarily listen to

music via USB as I dont want my music ruined by Bluetooth

compression, which by the way works just fine via steering wheel

controls as well a voice commands.

Have you tried removing Bluetooth pairing and pair again?

Also, with the Sync system, have you tried the old standby

of pulling fuse to kill power on head unit and powering backup

and then pair fresh?

There was also one other trick that helped on some Sync systems,

and that was to turn off WiFi.

I made the mistake of upgrading to ios7 too....and now the audio steering wheel controls are not functioning.  The Bluetooth connects and my iPhone plays the music, but to forward, reverse or increase the volume, it does not work.  Additionally, the music will not automatically play upon starting the car, the car pairs with the iPhone, but I must manually press play on the iPhone.  So much for hands-free...

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

My 2012 VW Jetta was fine with iOS6. Now with iOS7, the bluetooth connects and starts playing music from the phone every time it receives any kind of notification. VERY frustrating! Im driving, my bluetooth is turned on and connected in case I need to accept a phone call, but Im listening to the radio. If an email or text comes through, the radio automatically changes to bluetooth media and plays that instead. The only solution has been to turn off the bluetooth when Im in the car. Hope this is going to be addressed and corrected soon.

When I DO listen to music via bluetooth, Ive had full funtionality on the song controls, just as before.

Make sure all apostrophise () are removed from phone name and restart phone. Could not get steering wheel controls or auto playback in a Toyota hilux until I did the above, no matter how many times I restarted phone. Has been identified as a major issue to the point where some phones Bluetooth and wifi options are greyed out and cant be used at all because of it

Try it - worked for me

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

OK, so just to reiterate what others have said:

1. Remove the multimedia devices from your phone (Settings-Bluetooth-(your device)-i-Forget this Device

2. Do a hard reset on the phone -push both buttons until the phone shuts down; then wait patiently for it to restart

3. Go to your car and remove the Bluetooth pairing for your phone

4. Turn off the car and wait 30 seconds

5. Turn on the vehicle and re-pair your devices.

After trying a number of different combinations, this finally worked. Good luck.

Im having issues with track control and playback with all of our speakers only on the AT&T iPhone running iOS7. Verizon iPhones running iOS7 seem to be running just fine.

This is a super frustrating problem as these are really basic commands that Apple should have been able to make reverse compatible with older Bluetooth standards...in fact, is there really a reason to switch?

Oddly, the ONE feature that still works on our speakers is pinging Siri.

Plus when I put my car in reverse and the reverse camara came on the nav screen, the iPhone would stop playing and the audio would switch to FM. Very unhappy. I tried the fix listed--deleting my car from the blue tooth list, turning off blue tooth on the phone, deleting my phone from my car, turning off my car and then trying to repair the phone to the car.

The funny thing was the iPhone 5 wasnt prompting me for a code when I repaired it to my car but was repairing to my car. Blue tooth would work after that but when plugging into the USB a black screen would come up saying try again on my car nav screen. If I clicked ok, the audio would switch from playing the iPhone over to FM or XM.

I finally synced my phone back up to iTunes and changed the name of my phone so I didnt have an apostrophe in the name; Blanks iPhone. Now its just blank iphone. Then did the whole repairing thing and all is good. Who knew the innocent little apostrophe could be such a huge problem!

I would advise people not to upgrade to ios 7 if you use bluetooth. It doesnt work correctly in my car or headset!

Thank you brian.allshouse!  I tried everything to get my bluetooth controls working again in my car after updating to iOS 7.....well almost everything.  I took your suggestion and BAM! it worked.  Thanks!

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Hi Samdaci. Just to make sure that you followed the steps exactly

1 remove all Bluetooth profiles from your phone

2 hard reset your phone (very important step) by holding power and the home button till the phone powers off.

3 while your phone is off go to your car and remove your Bluetooth connection to your device.

4 power your device back on (will take a little longer than normal)

5 pair your device to your car as instructed by car/stereo owners manual

Again. You need to follow the steps exactly.

If you did then at a lost.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

This completely fixed my iPhone5 on iOS7. This is SUCH a relief to have playback controls back on our speakers. WOO.

I have the same problem with the 2013 Toyota Avalon I leased yesterday.  No control from the steering wheel, and I have to manually select a song to start it playing.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Mr. Moore

Did you have your phone paired to your car prior to updating your phone to iOS7?  If so follow these steps

If you didnt have it paired till after you leased your car (nice car by the way congratulations) then youll need to pair

Pair according to owners manual. Ive had several toyotas and its a two part process.

1 you first have to set up the phone as a phone

2 you then go back into setup and set up the Bluetooth audio portion of it.

If you would like more instructions on how to so this let me know

Thanks Madrid77 for the explanation.

I did exactly as you mentioned and it did worked for me. But only ONCE !!

Then next time as i entered the car, the phone got connected automatically to my Ford Fiesta MK7.

However, the Steering wheel control were still not working.

As I read through the complete Forum, the solution mentioned did help some people at the same time there are people still having the same issue even after restarting the phone and deleting the Bluetooth profiles.

This is so annoying that even if its a known Upgrade issue, it appears every time and Apple wants nothing to do about it.

DOES it really make sense posting in this forum and discussing about the issue since a week?

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Thank you, the hard reset worked!

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Dear Madrid77:

I upgraded to iOS 7 before leasing the Toyota Avalon -- which is SUCH a nice car, wow!  So I will try the second method you suggested.  Thanks for taking the time.  I appreciate it.

Oh, also, for what its worth, before I upgraded operating systems, the phone worked perfectly with our Toyota Highlander.  I havent tried using it since the upgrade.

I refrained from using the word upgrade in quotation marks . . . .   : )

Thanks again for your help, regardless whether it works.

Followed Madrid77 instuctions for a Panasonic DEH-X6500BT in-dash and it worked perfectly. I was ready to scrap my iPhone 5 for and android...not. Althought with iOS 7 this is what it looks like now. What was Apple thinking with this new interface. SJ is rolling ;((

i have a 2013 Accord & mine doesnt automatically connect either. and the wheel controls didnt work either. i have to change tracks on my phone. i just figured it was because they Apple wanted us using their iTunes radio

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

I havent had any issues connecting through bluetooth. I am having an issue where after playing a certain album, artist, etc., and try to go back and select a different album or artist, I am only able to view a list of all my songs from my iPhone 5. Im syncing with a 2013 Toyota Camry, and I had no issues before upgrading to iOS 7. Ive tried resetting my phone and removing the bluetooth profiles from the car and phone as recommended here, but I have had no luck. Has anyone else experienced this specific issue? Please address the issue soon Apple.

OK...I disconnected my cars BT completely (deleted it), deleted the iPhone BT and turned it off, and then I reconnected.  Now it works as before with skips working.  Thought I post this.  I have an Acura TSX.  Good luck and yes I agree it is a bug!

The suggestions posted by Andresg solved the problem in my Acura. Thanks!

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Madrid77, you are a genius!  Give that man or woman a spot at the genius bar!

I used the second method you suggested, i.e., disconnected the blue tooth, then connected the phone FIRST, then the music, and now life is once again a musical.  I listened to the extended play version of Funkytown all the way back to work from home.

THANK YOU!

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Im sad to report that the problem came back.  I had to fix it again today.  Resetting the Bluetooth profiles in my car and phone did the trick again, however everything seems to point out that this is indeed a bug. If you have a few minutes, please report the problem to Apple, if theres enough of us, maybe theyll work on a fix.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Same here.  The hard reset fixed it for me 2 days ago, but this morning it re-ocurred.  Another hard reset brought it back, but a hard reset every 2 days is not a fix.  (for me at least, the unpairing/repairing does nothing, it is the hard reset of the phone that brings the control back)

One thing that I have noticed is that when my car bluetooth controls stop working, the pause/play/skip buttons on the control center also stop working.  Is that the same for everyone?  That would indicate that bluetooth and control center are using the same mechanism to control the music player.  We may have better luck getting a fix from Apple if they know that Control Center functionality is also affected.  (The Bluetooth stuff they can blame on the other hardware)

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

I had the same problem in both of my cars a mazda CX5 and Mercedes however the first time I tried this process it did not work because I did not hard reset the my iphone5 with IOS7; I guess that is a key step in the process. So I deleted bluetooth devices on both the iphone and in the cars then hard reset the iphone before repairing it in both cars and that worked. It did not work the first time that I deleted the devices and repaired without hard resetting the iphone.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Yep it came back for me too.  Worked fine for three days though.  I wonder if Apple pushed out some kind of surreptitious patch that broke it again?

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

After doing this, were you able to have three options in the loudspeaker bottom of the screen of the telephone:  IPHONE, SPEAKER AND BLUETOOTH?  With iOS6, I used to have these options. With iOS7, only IPHONE and SPEAKER.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

I also notice the the buttons on the control center also stop working.  I have a Subaru as well. Have you had to reset again or does it work ok now.

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Same problem, I have a 2013 Dodge Ram and since updating I am unable to use pause/skip on my touch screen, unable to use steering wheel controls and cannot use music controls on the lock screen of my phone. Also has issues with even using it manually in terms of skipping forward or back. Has taken away the leisure of Hands Free and has completely stopped the use of using my phone for music entirely.

Not to mention other issues such as no color options such as messaging, left with a overly bright white screen phone with a quicker draining of my battery. Picture wallpaper ***** as you cannot manipulate it to fit the screen as you could before. The charging icon is sketchy and small and makes me think twice if its connected to the charger.

Have had absolutely ZERO problems with Apple for the two years of owning an iPhone UNTIL NOW. Ive never run into reporting phone bugs or having apps turn off on their own(Youtube) until this iOS7 update.

Feels as if they slopped together a variety of things that didnt seem to be checked properly. If forcing this update out like they did they should include some individualized options based on the owners preference, because most people dont appreciate the cartoon/toy aspect that were now stuck with.

After seeing this unfold has left me to wonder if Apple will wander into the same low standards I seen in makers such as Droid.

adding my 2 Cents. I had the same issue, iPhone 4S with iOS7 and my steering wheel and touch screen controls stopped working. Weird thing is my girlfriend who has the exact same phone (bought them together for a family plan) didnt have this issue after upgrading to iOS7. Once I get off work Im going to try the suggestions here and see if it works to fix the issue with my Explorer. Funny thing is I had tried EVERYTHING except the reset on the phone, hopefully that works *fingers crossed*

Answer:iOS 7 Bluetooth problems

Where do we log this bug ?  Its important that enough people complain about this so Apple will fix it.

With the Ford Sync system, if that doesnt work, remove the pairing

and try the old Sync pull fuse to power down and reboot the system

and then redo the pairing.  It has seemed with different cases (not

just iPhones) that a full power down and reboot of the Sync system

has been a cure all for all manor of device-to-Sync issues.

One other thing that helped sometimes, disabling WiFi on the device.

Why that mattered, who knows, but many in the past had reported

that this fixed an issue.

FWIW, this time around, updating my 4S to iOS7 has not

created any issues on my 2012 Focus Sync system, suprisingly.

Hi amit4422

I can understand your frustrations.  Are there any other devices paird to your car?  Are there any other bluetooth profiles paired to your phone?  If so I would try to remove them both from the vehicle and the phone.

In my car, I have a two step pairing process.  1 is for the phone (talk) and the other is for A2DP (music).  Both have to be deleted.

Here are the steps:

1 remove all Bluetooth profiles from your phone

2 hard reset your phone (very important step) by holding power and the home button till the phone powers off.

3 while your phone is off go to your car and remove your Bluetooth connection to your device.

4 power your device back on (will take a little longer than normal)

5 pair your device to your car as instructed by car/stereo owners manual

I do hope it works for you as I know how frustrated I was when it happened.
