iphone wifi problems ios 7
After I update to iOS 5.1 is started having problems with my home wifi.
After the update every thing seems to be running alright after after a day my connection was lost.
When I tried to reconnect I got the message unable to join the network.
I tried the following things:
- Forget network, reconnect: This did not help
- restart iPhone: did not help.
- Reset network settings: did not help.
The next step I tried was to restart my router.
This solved the problem, but after 1 day I have the same issue.
When I go to work there is no problem when I get back home same thing over again.
This is going on ever since I update to iOS 5.1
Before the update I had no problems.
Does anyone have more perment solution.
I have a iphone 4s, every since the upgrade to ios 6.0 and 6.01 my wifi only works at my home as I have a newer router. If I go anyplace else it does not work. All the free wifi spots I used to go to Starbucks, Dunckin Donuts, and also at my job do not work anymore. It wont hold the wifi connection for more than a few seconds. As soon as I enter a wifi password it holds for a second or two than switches right back to 3g.
Whatever apple did with the ios 6 really screwed things up. I thought 6.01 would fix the problem but no, in fact its worse. I know this does not affect all iphone 4ss as my son just got a new 4s and he doesnt have the problem.
Oh Ive tried all the usual fixes, nothing works. Ive been an apple guy since the company started, this is really pathetic on Apples part. Losing faith in what was once a great company.
anyone with problems after the new release?
Hello all, I have a problem with my iPhone 4 and wifi since updating to ios 6. Before that I had no problems with wifi.
The wifi connection is very bad. only within 1 meter of the conector I can connect with wifi.
Also the update to ios 6.0.1 and ios 6.1 gave no solutions.
Ive tried all the tips on the internet. network settings are reset, iphone reset etc.
Now there is still no solution I am distraught. Does anyone have any tips?
As reported in an earlier thread, since upgrading iPhone 4S from 5.1.1 to 6, the WiFi option is turned OFF and is greyed out/disabled. Have tried all combinations of hard/soft reboots, router resets, network settings reset, cleared cookies, etc. Nothing. The WiFi option is completely disabled.
WiFi worked fine prior to iOS 6. Now I cant turn it on. My wifes WiFi is fine, she can toggle on/off and hasnt had any other connectivity issues as reported by others.
I am having constant problems in watching YouTube videos on the YouTube App and generally all videos playing on my iPhone 4 using my WiFi. I have recently downloaded the iOs 5.1.1 software but still keep having the same problem the videos?
Has anyone experienced slow wifi connections on iPhone 4S once upgraded to IOS6.
Ok, heres what happened.
last night, i was on my houses wifi just fine. no issues.
this morning, it wouldnt connect (unable to connect to network) or failed to connect issues.
steps ive tried.
turning phone on and off
resetting network settings
unplugging and replugging my router
same to modem
same to both at the same time
hard reset of router
still wont connect.
running iphone 2.2.0
any other ideas? i really dont want to have to restore..its a pain in the ***.
note: it connected a little while ago, now it cant connect anymore.
I have a WRT150N wireless router from linksys, maybe 2-3 years old. Do I need a new router? Or is my iPhone defective(thank god im within 1 year warranty) or is it possibly a software/firmware/settings issue with the router/iphone
my connection is a WPA personal with mac filtering OFF

Every time my iPhone goes on stand-by the wifi disconnects and wont re connect or even if im quitting an app to look at another one or such. Ive reset my network settings, restored my iphone. Ive seen some people say that it is a hardware issue but im also wondering if anyone else has had this problem and found a way to fix it?
iPhone OS 3.1.3
i have just put a wifi in my room and am trying to use it with my iphone and am getting very p.oed about the issue im having. i go settings>wifi and turn it on. it shows my network and i tap it. it put in the key and the phone shows connection with the wifi network. then hit the home button and if the wifi symbol doesnt disappear at that time it will as soon as i try to use the net on my phone.ive tried using my network both while its locked and unlocked and have the same problem in both settings. i can access the wifi my dad has in his room without a problem when i go to that side of the house. i can access my wifi with my ps3 no problem. its just my phone and my network that dont seem to work well with eachother. many times, i have the check mark next to the network but the phone still doesnt show that i have wifi going. does any one here know how i can solve this problem?

I just received an iPhone 4 and got it all set up with no problems, until I started noticing that I was loosing the wifi signal and the phone would switch to the 3g signal. I double checked all the settings but to no avail. Does anyone have any suggesting I guess Im going to end up taking the phone to the Apple Store. Thanks!!

My home has an apple router, so I never had this problem until this week.I cannot logon to most wifi spots. The phone sees the router, but gives the following error: Incorrect password for router. The password is correct, but I can connect with my computer or others phones, not the Iphone4. I have tried a dozen spots, houses, cafes, airports etc.. and I could get one or two to work. I am using the correct password- it has to be driver problem.Any ideas? I have reset the network settings back to the factory settings. No difference. Thanks
I used to have a regular iPhone 3G and it worked fine. My fellow employees have regular 3G iPhones and they work fine too. When I enter the password for our WiFi network all I get is errors saying that the password is incorrect when it is so obviously not. I do not have any problems on any other network other than this one. The last time I tried, a friend running the same OS on a regular 3G iPhone entered in the same password as me at the same time and didnt have any problems immediately connecting to the network. Any thoughts?

I have an iPhone 3G and I bought a wireless USB 2.0 Adaptor (Netgear WG111v3).
I am able to establish a connection between the iPhone and my desktop computer through the Netgear USB Adaptor. However, when I try to test the connection by launching iTunes on my iPhone (which needs a wifi connection), it says the iPhone is not connected (even though I get a connection signal on both the iPhone and the Desktop).
Ive been having serious trouble with my iPhone, the problem is that it wont pick up a wifi signal unless I hold the phone literally a foot away from the router (Ive tried this with 3/4 routers Ive had access to).
Ive tried restoring the iPhone as well as trying all the fixes mentioned in the Apple article regarding the issue such as resetting network settings, etc.
I phoned Apple and they said that seeing my iPhone was purchased in Spain that they cant fix it here in the U.K. I thought this was diabolical considering that the warranty is a worldwide one, or at least I thought that it was.
Could someone clarify this issue as I find it hard to believe that an international company would have such localised policies regarding warranty validity.
iPhone OS 3.0
I have noticed a few problems with the update. My iPhone is now back to being slow and choppy. My battery drains a lot faster. And when I go to the app store, it will only show some of the pictures of the apps, I have to close it and open it again to make it start showing pictures again. Also, my signal strength on both the cell service and WIFI fluctuate more that it did prior to the update. I have never seen my WIFI signal drop inside my house until I updated to this version of the iOS.
Also, about the slow and choppy problem....prior to iOS 4.2.1, a Genius Bar employee told me to re-setup the phone as new and then sync all my info. back on the phone. It was a pain to deal with reseting all of my setting, however it did help the speed of the phone on iOS 4.1 and I was enjoying my iPhone again, however as soon as I updated to iOS 4.2.1, it was back to being slow and choppy as I noted above.
iPhone 3G iOS 4
Ive updated to iOS 6.1, and Ive been experiencing some really annoying battery problems since I updated. I tried doing the good old iPhone reset, but it still wont charge up to 100%. It stops charging when it reaches 52-56 % battery.
Is there any way of fixing this ?

My friend bought me an iPhone 4 in the UK, but I live in Slovenia, wheres no iPhone support. Im having problems with WiFi range and GPS connectivity. Another iPhone 4 works like a charm in similar circumstances.
Now, how can I have my iPhone 4 fixed? Does Apple send its courier to pick my iPhone and send it to nearest Apple service (something like HP) or what else can I do to have it replaced or refurbished? Im willing to pay for P&P expenses, just to have it fixed.
Custom made PC Windows 7
I have recently purchased the 3G iPhone and all is well apart from my iPhone will not use my home wifi connection. It continues to use the 3G even while I am at home, feet from the router!!
I am using AOL and a Netgear router. I would claim only to be proficient with PCs and I am looking for advice as the iPhone has no problems using wifi when out in public places (Starbucks etc)
Do I need to manually put IP addresses, DNS, Router details etc ?
every time i connect to my wifi network on my iphone it will connect then automatically disconnect... it does this over and over and i know my networks working fine whats wrong?! !?
mi iphone 3g does not find wifi network any of them! he used to find and connect to all but one day when i turn on the wifi didnt find i reset the network settings and didnt work
Hi, I have a problem with the iPhone, updated iOS 5.1 beta 3 without regard to the developer without knowledge of the result. My iPhone is locked, only the splash screen iPhone appears. Appears in iTunes Were unable to complete your activation, with no possibility of restoration. Im desperate for ideas of how to restore and fix my mistake. I need everybody to help solve this problem. Help me! I await answers.
This problem started before the upgrade to iOS 7, but the problem has only grown worse since the uprade. When I try to play songs on iTunes, iTunes will freeze up, play very short snippets of the song, change the time of the song to about 3 seconds, and will not change back. When I check the file where I store my music, it says the file is fine. I decided to just go ahead and try putting the files on my phone, but the sync froze up and came back as an error. Now my phone is randomly taking music off, wont let me take music that Ive purchased through iTunes off, and is even giving me issues when I try to put any music on. My phone is my primary music player and wold very much like to get this problem fixed soon.
Updated iPhone 4 to IOS 5 a couple of weeks ago and now my photos are no longer recognized in iPhoto or images and I cant import them. Had a 1 to 1 @ Apple Store and couldnt resolve the issue. Went on vacation, took more pictures, many more to upload. Still cannot.
Genius Bar appointment today, tried plugging my iPhone into another laptop AND iMac and still couldnt import.
Specialist suggests emailing them (130 from vacation!) to myself and then restoring the phone.
This problem didnt happen until after I upgraded to IOS 5.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
HiI have a problem with GPS on my iPhone 3GS.Basically any application I use for GPS, initally gets a GPS fix, i.e. MAPS, Navfree, TomTom, Nike+GPS etc.. and the location is correct. However when I start moving, the tracking is very flakey.TOMTOM reports a poor GPS Reception and doesnt even work.I have tried it in many areas, when others can get a fix.I have also restored the phone back to defaults, but still no joy.I think the GPS chip is on its way out, but the only thing thats stopping me saying this for sure is that the phone on launching the app gets the fix correct.Has anyone else ever encountered this same issue ?
Ive bought my iPhone 4 in UK, everything was wonderful, today i saw that i can download new iOS 4.1, ive done it, and started installing it, but i forgot that using settings i hid iTunes and App Store at iPhone, in 2 minutes, iTunes showed an error that it cant install new iOS. And now my iPhone show me iTunes and USB at the screen and I cant do enything. Whats the problem and what i have to do (
iphone wifi problems ios 7
Ever since I updated to ios 4.3 Ive had problems with the GPS. Using google maps it will find my location initially but not follow me when driving. It will update after about 30 seconds but will continue to not follow me. I also have Navigon and 99% of the time it will not find my location. Ive checked location services and restored the phone to a clean ios 4.3.1 install and still nothing. I am not at 4.3.2. Not sure if it matters but the modem firmware is 05.16.02. This is a replacement phone I received from Best Buy because my battery in my original iphone was going bad. So Im assuming this is a refurbished phone. I personally have never unlocked this phone. Have been using the GPS for 18 months will no problems until now. Ive tried turning wifi off/on, 3G off/on and reset the network settings. Any ideas? Im beginning to think this is a hardware issue.
